except it's still going to be lazy because everything is going to be bulleted
Friday:
-Met these really cool guys in line for the RT shorts panel who I ended up talking to for quite awhile over the weekend
-RT shorts panel was hilarious because we got to hear a bunch of "dumb Chris" stories from Matt and Brandon and got to see the rough cut of a short that is apparently going to be released sometime in the future. All I can say is gatorade and Joel is A+
-Got to meet Lindsay who is so sweet and funny and when I told her that she is amazing all she said was "nah, I'm just a normal person who farts and stuff" like sigh Michael is so lucky to have her
-Got to meet none other than Kerry Shawcross as I was leaving the convention center and I wish I could have talked to him more but he looked exhausted
-Also LITERAL LIFE SIZE TOWER OF PIMPS
-Visited their office which was pretty bizarre seeing it in person after only seeing it in shorts and stuff
Saturday:
-Stood in line for 3 hours for the Achievement Hunter panel which I must say was SO WORTH IT
-While people were chanting annoying things in the crowd there were a few cool moments (way too much Mark Nutt/Fiiiiiish)
(this is why I got there 3 hours early)
-Got to meet Jordan and Caleb while waiting for the panel and found out Jordan is a lefty too. Also got to meet Dan who sat 4 rows in front of us during the panel and it was crazy how overwhelmed he seemed from all the attention he was getting
-SLO MO WAVE
-The panel itself which was really funny but had its super cringeworthy moments like some guy deepthroating the mic and asking for a job and some girl asking Gavin on a date like NO
-Finding out Jack's middle name is Shannon
-Gavin and Ray entering into the panel as literally X-Ray and Vav
-JACK DOING THE TRUFFLE SHUFFLE
-Got to go see a live let's play which was everything I could have hoped for
-Didn't have much to do after that so I kind of just explored and this happened
-Went to go wait for the Slo Mo Guys panel and met some cool people (only at this type of thing will people use old Xbox cases as signs omg)
-While waiting for the panel I got to meet Miles very briefly but the picture ended up super crap :(
-Ray made an appearance and came down my aisle giving high fives and since I was on the end seat I was able to give him one but I had a shirt I'd been trying to give him and instead of taking the shirt he high fived the shirt and ran away??? what
-BUT YEAH GAVIN AND DAN WERE A+
-Got to see great behind the scenes footage from their shoots and get a bit more insight into the process and all and it was super interesting
-Didn't really have a purpose after that until the mixer so I was roaming around and got to meet Monty who is literally a walking anime character but he is SO COOL
-Stood in line for the attendee mixer with the guys I met in line for the shorts panel and they helped fend off the creepy guy attacks I kept getting
-Met some other really awesome guys
-Met so many of the incredible staff at RT including Gus, Chris, Nick, Barbara, Miles (again), Matt, and Caleb (again)
-Met this girl named Stacey who was SO cool and people-hunted with me and was one of the few normal girls I met that seemed to be as interested in RT as I am
Sunday:
-Woke up at 5 to go to the Slo Mo Guys shoot they were having at the convention center
-Stood in line with a guy from Ireland and a guy from Canada who I ended up hanging out with for the rest of the morning (also really cool people, shoutout to Luke and Curtis)
-Was forced to hold two water balloons for 2 hours while waiting and having mini panic attacks over not breaking them
-Getting to throw water balloons at Gavin Free and Dan was toppy tippers
-INTERNET BOX PANEL. THAT WAS A THING.
(explains a lot about this panel)
-Seriously though the IB panel had me close to tears with the diddling and the butt touching and Andrew drawing on leg hair and Kerry's long lost son
-Got my portrait drawn by Luke McKay who is incredibly talented and very chill guy
-Tried really hard to meet Michael and Lindsay but couldn't :(
-GOT TO MEET GEOFF after I thought all hope was lost in meeting any of the AH crew (with a great photobomb by #dantheman)
-I didn't witness this but there was so much drama surrounding the RT podcast panel and Joel supposedly giving away Jack's phone number and causing a LOT of chaos
-RTAA panel was A+ with all the previews they gave us and ANIMATED ADVENTURERS OMG plus the thing they showed us that we were all sworn to secrecy about
-Burnie and Gus ragging on Jordan for his art style was hilarious and made the panel so much more entertaining
-Since I wasn't able to meet the AH crew I just took super creeper pics of them hehehehe
WELP that's about it for my time at RTX. Gotta say it was one of the best weekends of my life so far and I'm so glad I got the chance to meet a lot of these people that bring me so much laughter and have helped me out of some pretty crappy times.
Now that the conventions over it's funny how people have been able to find me on the RT site and whatnot. Some kid that goes to UCLA and plays polo there messaged me on fb that he was at the Slo Mo Guys shoot and he saw one of my tweets about it and decided to look me up. Also someone whose picture I photobombed ended up finding me on the site as well (by means of coincidence)
ALSO it turns out I ended up in the RTX Exhibit Hall video posing with Lindsay which about makes my life (around 40 seconds in)
and the guy who shot / edited the video who works with RT and edits Let's Builds commented on my profile on the site and told me I was in it which was pretty cool
and y'know Caleb tweeted a heart at me
SO YEAH. went from virtually no interaction with RT aside from that AMA to getting to actually talk to them and find out more about what they do and it was really cool. Can't wait until next year :}
