Things I've done this past year:

  • Got accepted to the college of my dreams
  • Performed in front of thousands of people
  • Danced on stage with our valedictorian and probably one of the coolest people ever as well as two people who have been on national TV for their dancing
  • Came to find a new appreciation for a sport I thought I hated, and now love
  • Discovered an amazing community of people online and a company that helped me through some of my not-so good times
  • Actually had a really, really incredible senior prom
  • Graduate high school in the top 5 of my class
  • Became friends with the coolest group of guys I have ever met and have some pretty rad adventures
  • Rekindled a friendship with someone who people said it'd be impossible
  • Met some of my favorite people from the Internet at RTX as well as spoke to them over the RT website and reddit
  • Partook in a gigantic slow motion shoot
  • Jumped off the pier
  • Got hit on by my "celebrity crush" on a public forum (YUP I'm still talking about it)
  • Became the person I wanted to be instead of the person everyone else wanted me to be
  • Found happiness in myself rather than solely in another person
Things I haven't done:
  • Had a boyfriend.
HAHA LIFE I WIN

In all seriousness though, this past year has taught me a lot. I had always been the type to be dependent on a boyfriend for happiness and, although it was hard, I found my way out of that mindset. I find that now, I'm so much happier and so much less angry at people and life in general. I don't know why exactly I'm posting this or why I even remember this date, but yeah. I guess it serves as a reminder to myself that I have control of my life and even if things don't necessarily go as planned, things can work out in my favor. Or, I guess, things can totally exceed expectations.

Change, my friends, is not always bad.
